The VersaFlex polyurea joint sealants and polished concrete installation at new US Naval Academy Commissary in Annapolis, Maryland was a challenging project due to tight time constraints and weather conditions. The polished concrete installation was 32,000 square feet, received a sand aggregate cut, dye and polished to an 800 grit resin. Maryland was experiencing record lows with temperatures dropping to zero at night. It was so cold that when the exhaust condensation hit the ground from the van, it immediately froze. The building’s HVAC system was not operational resulting in slab temperatures well below freezing. Cuviello Concrete dealt with all of these challenges while having to meet the original deadline. Watch the video to find out VersaFlex joint sealants and Cuviello Concrete kept warm, sealed off openings and overcame other hurdles to complete the polished concrete installation at the new US Naval Academy Commissary.
