The owner’s fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) water tank had been leaking along the joints for a number of years. Various attempts to repair ans stop the leaks using conventional waterproofing did not have any positive results.
VersaFlex’s FSS 50DM pure polyurea spray coating system was proposed to the owner, which they happily approved, in part because of the fast cure time and rapid return to service that is possible with VersaFlex’s pure polyurea systems. The FRP surface was abraded using a hand-powered tool. FSS 50DM was sprayed onto joints first, and then onto the entire FRP tank, creating an integral liner.
After years of waterproofing failures, the problem was finally successfully resolved.
